Shins at The Shoe in Cincinnati tonight!
Stomach flu last night. I hope I’m up to it. But I did eat my lunch and keep it down, so here’s hoping they play a bunch of the good old good ones. On Austin City Limits, they did practically the whole new album and I don’t think it’s as good.
And yes, I sold out my principles and gave my money to a city-killing casino just because they have a band there that I want to hear live.

We were thrilled to attend the surprise Pop Up Performance with Branford Marsalis today in the Westin Atrium. Along with Julie Spangler, the sax performance thrilled passersby.
Dubbed “An American Mosaic,” the concerts are geared towardsstudents in grades 5-8 and explore the impact of jazz, popular song, folk tunes and hymns on orchestra music in the United States.
The concerts are part of a week-long residency that Marsalis will spend with the CSO as this season’s creative director of the Ascent Series.
My side project SocialNati.com promotes social and networking gatherings in the Cincinnati area. I’m honored to be nominated for that work in the New Media Cincinnati Digital Awards.
Please vote for me in the “Digital Native” category. I’d appreciate the extra exposure for the site.
Also, I’d be grateful if you’d consider reblogging this post, or tweeting on my behalf. I put together a tweet link here: Help SocialNati With a Tweet
