Brent Billock's Tumblr

I'm Brent. I do Internet marketing and run a stock picking community website. My job and heart are still in Chicago, but I'm telecommuting from Cincinnati. I do a little longform blogging at billock.net and I tweet as @BrentBillock.
I really like motorcycles, guitars, and good design.

Think there are no death panels NOW?

politicalprof:

My insurance company is refusing to authorize a perfectly ordinary test that is common and important for the diagnosis of heart disease, a consistent problem in my family. Why? Cost.

At least I can’t vote for the morons in charge, like maybe I could in national health care systems. I feel much better knowing that profit is getting in the way of healthcare.

But that’s free-market privatized death. And Humana or Blue Cross or whomever surely has a CEO out cruising in his yacht while you perish. Much, much better.

RIP Rick Perry

Perry: “And I will tell you, it’s three agencies of government, when I get there, that are gone: Commerce, Education, and the uh… uh… What’s the third one there? Let’s see…

Paul: “There’s five.”

Perry: “Oh! Five! Commerce, Education, and the uh… uh…”

Paul: “EPA?”

Perry: “EPA! There you go!”

YES!

YES!

In Less Than A Minute Alan Grayson Explains Occupy Wall Street To The 1 Percent

This is fantastic.

I hope the Occupy Wall Street phenomenon is an indication that youth resistance could be reborn, but this is an amazing analysis of what’s held it down. Unemployment over 14% for workers under 24 could re-ignite it after all.
