The two ladies sitting next to me have never met, but one of them was reading the Film Festival schedule. So now they’ve been talking for 15 minutes about the films they’ve seen, the plot twists and character development, and the emotions they invoked.
I really hate living in the suburbs.
It’s a smaller footprint, they’ll use 5 cars instead of 7, and they’ll likely use battery power instead of overhead electric, but the City of Cincinnati is building the streetcar.
Ballot initiatives and lobbying from the suburbs tried to strangle it. Our clueless backwards-thinking Governor has done everything he can do to kill it.
But the City has $95 million to get started. They don’t need State funding and they most certainly don’t need West Chester to start showing what a dose of public transit can do for investment in some ailing neighborhoods.
